UK VR firm agrees three-year deal with MGM-Backed Studio

Manchester-based virtual reality technology group Immotion have signed an exclusive agreement with the MGM-backed VR studio, Survios.

The firm will install their popular virtual reality experience ‘Raw Data’ into Immotion’s new VR arena product.

The latest partnership will see the launch of Immotion’s new themed VR arena, a four person, free-roaming experience, which will exclusively feature interactive VR game, Raw Data.

The 4mx4m multi-player enclosure allows up to four players to take part in the first-person, interactive VR ‘shoot-‘em-up’ experience.

The game is the first consumer title in VR to reach $1m in its first month of sales.

The exclusive deal sees Raw Data offered as a multiplayer VR arena version for the very first time in the ‘out of home’ market.

Survios, a leading VR studio based in California, USA recently completed a Series C funding round, bringing its funding to over $50m.

“We have been working on our VR Arena for some months, and to have exclusivity on such an iconic game as ‘Raw Data’ is a major coup for Immotion, further underpinning our position as global leaders in the ‘out of home’ VR market.

“We look forward to announcing partnerships with major destinations for the launch of our VR Arena in the coming weeks.”

Survios CEO, Seth Gerson added: “We’re teaming up with Immotion to bring ‘Raw Data Arena’ to a new level with this bespoke arena experience.
