Prague has been crowned the world's best city for spending cryptocurrency, according to new research.

Czech Republic's capital has topped a list of 10 cities with the most venues that accept payments with Bitcoin and other virtual currencies.

The Bitcoin hotspots of the world are the top ten cities ranked by how many physical venues within them accept Bitcoin as payment, with the venues spanning attractions, shops, restaurants, bars, lodging, transport, sports and more.

Prague boasts 154 venues that accept cryptocurrency, followed by Buenos Aires (130 venues) and San Francisco (111) in second and third place, respectively. London also features on the list at number four, with 102 venues accepting payment in cryptocurrency.

The data from Bitcoin gambling site FortuneJack suggests that one of the most surprising stats is the distinct lack of Chinese and Japanese cities that make it into the top 10.

Tokyo is often hailed as a 'technology paradise' but the Japanese capital has not adopted Bitcoin as quickly as European cities.

Meanwhile, China doesn't get a look in despite the ever-increasing popularity of NEO, which remains one of the leading cryptocurrencies on Coin Market Cap and is often dubbed "Chinese Ethereum".
