A listed procurement software firm has announce the appointment of its new chief financial officer.

Richard Hughes will take up the role at Leeds-based Proactis and join its board of directors from May.

The company said Hughes has significant experience in financial control, accounting, reporting, compliance and governance across the Caribbean and Latin America, Europe, Middle East and Africa, and Asia-Pacific areas, gained through his roles at ARRIS International and formerly with Pace where he has worked since joining the Pace Group in 2011.

In his role as finance director he led the international finance function integrations of both Pace plc and the ARRIS Enterprise Networks Business Unit following their respective acquisitions.

Prior to joining Pace, Hughes held senior positions at PwC for seven years and worked for them in both Australia and the UK.

CEO Tim Sykes said he was delighted to have Hughes join the company.

“[Hughes] has substantial experience working within and helping to grow publicly-listed companies operating internationally,” he said.

“We are confident that his appointment will bring immediate value to our Board and the Company as a whole and we look forward to working alongside Richard to re-focus the Group and drive growth in what continues to be an attractive market.”
